A prosthesis for insertionin an ear to reduce pain resulting fromTMJ disorders. The ear insert has apredefined shape conforming to the shapeof the ear canal when the jaw is in anopen position. The ear insert supportsthe TMJ and associated secondarymusculature to reduce strain in the TMJarea, including the muscles, ligaments,nerves, and the temporo-mandibularjoint itself. The insert is hollow in theinside to permit hearing and is made of arigid material which retains the shape ofthe ear canal. A scalloped indentureextends across a surface of the ear insertpositioned behind the tragus.
