The invention relates to a method for purifying an atmosphere to be treated, in which a purifying mist is produced by subjecting a purifying liquid (L) to the vibrations of piezoelectric membranes (11, 12), by conveying the masses of mist thus produced by a plurality of air currents that carry each of said masses away from the membranes, and by guiding them individually toward a specific location in the atmosphere to be treated.
