This invention relates to a non-toxic transparent hard aquarium capable of inhibiting algae growth, comprising a glass container for aquatic creatures and a hydrophobic coating. The glass container for aquatic creatures comprises an internal surface and the hydrophobic coating is coated on the internal surface to contact water. The hydrophobic coating comprises a first covering layer and a second covering layer. The material of the first covering layer comprises hydrophobic alkoxy silane and water-soluble polymer or monomer thereof. The material of the second covering layer comprises organic silicon compound not containing oxygen or fluorine. This invention also provides a manufacturing method of the transparent hard aquarium, including coating a first coating material on the internal surface of a glass container for aquatic creatures and coating a second coating material on the first covering layer. The transparent hard aquarium of this invention can effectively inhibit the algae to be attached and grow and will not generate toxicity to the aquatic creatures.一種無毒且可抑制藻類生長的透明硬質水族缸,包含一水族用玻璃容器及一疏水塗層。該水族用玻璃容器包括一內表面。該疏水塗層塗佈於該內表面,以接觸水體,該疏水塗層包括一第一覆蓋層及一第二覆蓋層。該第一覆蓋層的材料包括烷氧基矽烷及水溶性高分子或其單體。該第二覆蓋層的材料包括不含氧及氟的有機矽化合物。本發明亦提供一種透明硬質水族缸的製法,包含將一第一覆膜材料塗覆於一水族用玻璃容器的內表面及將一第二覆膜材料塗覆於該第一覆蓋層。本發明的透明硬質水族缸可有效抑制藻類附著生長,且不會對於水族生物產生毒害。
