This invention relates to a non-toxic transparent hard aquarium capable of inhibiting algae growth, comprising a glass container for aquatic creatures and a hydrophobic coating. The glass container for aquatic creatures comprises an internal surface and the hydrophobic coating is coated on the internal surface to contact water. The hydrophobic coating comprises a first covering layer and a second covering layer. The material of the first covering layer comprises hydrophobic alkoxy silane and water-soluble polymer or monomer thereof. The material of the second covering layer comprises organic silicon compound not containing oxygen or fluorine. This invention also provides a manufacturing method of the transparent hard aquarium, including coating a first coating material on the internal surface of a glass container for aquatic creatures and coating a second coating material on the first covering layer.
