The present invention relates to a gripper (3) for manipulating a device for identifying an animal and/or for removing a tissue from an animal, the gripper (3) comprising two jaws (32, 33), a handle (31) allowing the jaws to be brought close to one another (32, 33), and means (321) for holding an element of the identification and/or removal device, rigidly connected to one of the jaws (32, 33), the holding means (321) being movable between: - a release position and - a holding position.
