A body lumen filter includes a plurality of bistable anchors configured to move between a stable pre-deployed state and a stable deployed state. In the stable deployed state the stable pre-deployed diameter the bistable anchors define a pre- deployed anchor diameter and in the stable deployed diameter the bistable anchors define a deployed anchor diameter, the deployed diameter being larger than the pre-deployed diameter.
