PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a highly L-ornithine-containing material drunk and consumed directly, without having a purification step by fermenting a material containing protein and/or peptide containing L-aruginine as the constituent amino acid by using safe microorganisms.
SOLUTION: The method for producing a L-ornithine-containing food and drink, medicine or fodder, includes fermenting the material containing protein and/or peptide containing L-aruginine as the constituent amino acid, by using the microorganisms having L-arginine-releasing activity and the microorganisms having an arginine-deiminase path.
