Embodiments of the present invention relate to systems and methods for removing the fixation light reflection from an ophthalmic image. In one embodiment, an ophthalmic laser treatment system, having a digital imaging system for capturing images of a patients eye and a visual fixation light source configured to produce a fixation light upon which the patients eye can be focused, further includes a filter configured to remove from the image any light reflection caused by the visual fixation light source.
