PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device for a portable endoscope which eliminates a pressure difference between inside and outside of the light source device to reduce a load on the light source device and prevent the light source device from being damaged in a decompression process such as EOG sterilization.SOLUTION: The light source device 30 for the portable endoscope is detachably provided to the light source connection part 26 of an endoscope body and includes a communication hole 35h to communicate the inside and the outside of the light source device 30 with each other and a slide pin 37 capable of blocking the communication hole 35h. By separating a slide pin 37 from the light source connection part 26 when the light source device 30 is detached from the light source device connection part 26, a communication hole 35h is blocked up by the slide pin 37.
