A testing device and a method for identifying an antigen or antibody within a biofluid sample are disclosed. The test device includes a substrate formed of cellulosic material and having a hydrophilic microfluidic channel pattern thereon. The hydrophilic microfluidic channel pattern defines a collection zone, and at least one detection zone extending therefrom. The biofluid sample is mixed with a specific antigen or antibody and deposited on the collection zone and transferred by capillary action to the detection zone. When the antigen or antibody in the biofluid sample reacts with a corresponding the antibody or antigen, a visual indication on the detection zone results from reduced wicking and/or differentiation of eluation speeds.
