A cable hook 30 comprising a hooking groove 34 onto which a probe cable 26 can be hooked is disposed near a probe holder 22 for holding a probe head 24. A hook base 32 attached to the underside of the probe holder 22 supports the cable hook 30 such that the orientation of the cable hook 30 can be switched between a hanging orientation and an upright orientation. In the hanging orientation, the entire cable hook 30 lies within a vertical line 38 passing through a side end of a device body 12 (holder base 28).
