The invention is a method for the production of three-dimensional objects (A) through a stereolithography machine (1) comprising: a tank (2) containing a liquid substance (3) suited to solidify when subjected to a selective stimulation (4); a modelling plate (6; 6'; 6") comprising a work surface (7) facing the bottom (2a) of the tank (2) for supporting the object (A); emission means (5) for generating the selective stimulation (4) and conveying it towards the tank (2). The modelling plate (6; 6'; 6") comprises a groove (8) in the work surface (7) extending to its perimeter edge so as to have an open end at the level of the lateral surface of the plate (6; 6'; 6"). The method comprises operating the emission means (5) so as to solidifying a plurality of mutually superimposed layers (E) with predefined thickness of the liquid substance (3), and in such a way that a portion of the liquid substance (3') arranged in the groove (8) remains liquid.
