The pest control system includes a pest confinement chamber for receiving a pest attractant, and a chamber base for supporting the pest confinement chamber. The pest confinement chamber is provided with at least one pest aperture to permit entry of a target pest into the pest confinement chamber. The chamber base includes a housing body containing an illumination assembly for illuminating the pest confinement chamber.
