PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide therapeutic agents capable of blocking a biological function including accumulation of phagocytic cells (particularly, macrophages and monocytes) in a patient suffering from an acute coronary syndrome (particularly, unstable angina or/and myocardial infarction) and/or secretion of factors from the phagocytic cells, and a method for treating an acute coronary syndrome (particularly, unstable angina or/and myocardial infarction), and stabilizing plaques associated with these syndromes.SOLUTION: A therapeutic agent of an acute coronary syndrome contains an encapsulated therapeutic agent, an embedded therapeutic agent, or a particulate therapeutic agent having the size of 0.05 to 1.0 microns, and includes administering an effective amount of a formulation which reduces phagocyte activity to a patient who needs the formulation.
