PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope which prevents an occurrence of breakage on an objective lens on a distal end surface of an insertion portion more reliably.SOLUTION: The endoscope is equipped with the objective lens 37 which is exposed from the distal end surface of the distal end of the insertion portion and makes light from a body cavity incident, a washing nozzle 43 which protrudes from the distal end surface and sprays a fluid to the objective lens, and two protruding parts 45 protruding from the distal end surface. When the distal end surface makes contact with an object such as a floor surface, the contact of the object with the objective lens 37 is avoided by placing the objective lens 37 in a manner to be separated from a planar surface defined by a point E1 on the surface of the washing nozzle and two points E2, E3 on two protruding parts each of which protrudes with respect to the distal end surface.
