PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packing material for an open-type magnetic resonance imaging apparatus, capable of sufficiently preventing leakage magnetic field, enabling magnetic bodies to be easily attached and detached from a magnetic circuit, and changing the size of package during transportation.SOLUTION: The packing material 1 for packing the magnetic circuit 100 of the open-type magnetic resonance imaging apparatus includes: leakage magnetic field preventing members 20 to be attached to a box 10 for housing the magnetic circuit 100 or to a yoke 110. The leakage magnetic field preventing members 20 each have a non-magnetic spacer 21 detachably attached to the outer surface of the box 10, and magnetic bodies 22 attached to the non-magnetic spacer 21.
