A bioerodible composition for delivery of a bioactive agent to body site inneed thereof, the composition comprising a reaction mixture of oxidizeddextran solution, dihydrazide, bioactive agent, optionally pH adjusting agentin sufficient amount to achieve pH of 6 or less for the reaction mixture,optionally controlled release agent. Aliquot of the mixture containing theoxidized dextran solution and a another aliquot containing dihydrazide,bioactive agent and the pH adjusting compound are combined and the resultingreaction mixture is administered to the body site where it solidifies into abioerodible drug delivery composition. Each syringe in a double syringe kitholds first and second aliquot solutions respectively.
