PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dilator capable of accurately grasping the completion point of expansion of the hole to the object when the expansion is completed.SOLUTION: A dilator 1 includes a hollow shaft 11 having a tapered portion 111 having the outer diameter of the tip smaller than the outer diameter of the base end and a main body portion 112 whose tip is positioned at a base end 111b of the tapered portion 111 and extended toward the base end side in the axial direction of the tapered portion 111.
