The invention relates to a method and device for the treatment of glaucoma, though insertion of an implant into the lumen of the Schlemms canal to realize proper drainage of the aqueous humor, which implant is brought into its position in the Schlemms canal by means of a catheter having a distal and a proximate portion and provided with a number of pores through which a gaseous or fluid medium which comes from a pressure source can emerge during insertion of the catheter carrying the implant into the Schlemms canal, and while the catheter is being inserted into the Schlemms canal the gaseous or fluid medium is released under pressure thereby expanding the Schlemms canal and the implant and upon releasing the implant at its determined location, the catheter can be withdrawn from the Schlemms canal.Linvention concerne un procédé et un dispositif de traitement du glaucome, par insertion dun implant dans la lumière du canal de Schlemm pour effectuer un drainage correct de lhumeur aqueuse, ledit implant étant positionné dans le canal de Schlemm au moyen dun cathéter ayant une partie distale et une partie proximale et comportant un certain nombre de pores par lesquels un milieu gazeux ou liquide provenant dune source de pression peut émerger pendant linsertion du cathéter portant limplant dans le canal de Schlemm, et tandis que le cathéter est inséré dans le canal de Schlemm, le milieu gazeux ou liquide est libéré sous pression, développant ainsi le canal de Schlemm et limplant et, lors de la libération de limplant au niveau de son emplacement déterminé, le cathéter peut être retiré du canal de Schlemm.
