PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure safety of a person such as a patient by taking an electrocardiogram on him or her while performing pacing without imposing a burden on him or her.SOLUTION: A external pacemaker 10 includes: an electrical stimulus generating part 21 for giving electrical stimuli to cardiac muscle of a patient through electrode catheters 23a, 23b placed in body of a patient 1 a body surface electrocardiographic information measuring part 31 for measuring body surface electrocardiographic information on the patient 1 through electrodes 36a, 36b, and 36c attached to the body surface of the patient 1 and a radio transmitting part 33 for wirelessly transmitting the body surface electrocardiographic information that has been measured.
