PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cut many tuberous roots that are grown downward and obliquely downward and radially on one stem by inclined right and left cutting blades so as to mutually separate.
SOLUTION: The apparatus for digging and picking up crops has a conveying mechanism H for nipping stems S1 of vegetated root crops S, lifting them upward and conveying them and a cutting mechanism M for chopping off the tuberous roots S2 of the root crops S from the stems S1 in the middle of conveying. The cutting mechanism M has a pair of the right and left cutting blades 2 that are positioned at the right and left of the stems S1 to be conveyed and inclined from the upper side to the lower side opposingly in the inside direction.
