PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultraviolet irradiating unit for irradiating ultraviolet for disinfecting, whose installing place is not limited, having high safety, and having functions required for properly irradiating ultraviolet.
SOLUTION: The ultraviolet irradiating unit 3 has an ultraviolet irradiating lump 37 in a casing 30 and irradiates the objects to be irradiated introduced from an introduction opening 31 with ultraviolet rays to disinfect the same. A control section 38 controls so as to start ultraviolet irradiation when the introduction detecting sensor 34 detects the introduction of the objects to be irradiated and completes the irradiation after irradiating for a predetermined time suitable for disinfection. Further the control section 38 outputs alarm sound from a speaker 38c and alarm display on the display section 38a when the introduction detecting sensor 34 does not detect the object to be irradiated before the completion of the predetermined irradiation time. Louvers 33 guides the ultraviolet irradiated from the ultraviolet irradiation lump 37 so as not to be irradiated directly to the outside from the introduction opening 31.
