A paint composition, comprising: (a) a carrier liquid； (b) at least 10% by weight pigment； (c) a latex binder polymer selected from acrylic binder, vinyl acrylic binder or styrene acrylic binder having a compatibility score of 0.7 or lower； wherein the compatibility of the binder with the quaternary ammonium compound is determined by observing and measuring the degree of binder and pigment precipitation when the quaternary ammonium compound is added to the paint composition described herein； and (d) a quaternary ammonium compound, wherein the paint composition comprises 0.25% to 3% by weight of quaternary ammonium compound.Una composición de pintura, que comprende: (a) un líquido portador； (b) al menos 10% en peso de pigmento； (c) un polímero aglutinante de látex seleccionado de aglutinante acrílico, aglutinante acrílico de vinilo o aglutinante acrílico de estireno que tiene una puntuación de compatibilidad de 0,7 o inferior； en donde la compatibilidad del aglutinante con el compuesto de amonio cuaternario se determina observando y midiendo el grado de precipitación de aglutinante y pigmento cuando se añade el compuesto de amonio cuaternario a la composición de pintura descrita en la presente memoria descriptiva； y (d) un compuesto de amonio cuaternario, en donde la composición de pintura comprende 0,25% a 3% en peso de compuesto de amonio cuaternario.
