Disclosed herein is a process for preparing a suspension of the polymorph I of the methanesulphonic acid salt of dabigatran etexilate of formula I, characterised in that the polymorph I of dabigatran etexilate methanesulphonate being characterised by a melting point of 180°C ± 3°C (determined by DSC heating rate: 10°C/min) is suspended together with talc in a solution of hydroxypropylcellulose in isopropyl alcohol, the preparation of the suspension being carried out at a temperature not exceeding 30°C by the circulatory dispersal process, wherein a dispersion device is connected to a batch container and the isopropyl alcohol is circulated through the batch container to generate a suction vacuum to suck in the hydroxypropylcellulose, the polymorph I of dabigatran etexilate methanesulphonate and the talc..
