PURPOSE: An essential oil extract of Neolistea sericea with anti-inflammation and anti-microbial properties is provided to suppress generation of inflammatory factors such as iNOS, COX, COX-2 and PGE2. CONSTITUTION: An anti-inflammatory composition contains essential oil extract of Neolistea sericea as an active ingredient. The composition is a food composition or pharmaceutical composition. The essential oil extract has antimicrobial property against Staphylococcus epidermidis, Propionibacterium acnes, Malasseiz furfur, and Candida albicans. The pharmaceutical composition is manufactured in the form of oral formulation(tablet, suspension, granule, emulsion, capsule, syrup), parenteral formulation(sterilized aqueous or oil injection suspension), and local formulation(solution, cream, ointment, gel, lotion, patch).본 발명은 항염 활성과 항미생물성을 갖는 참식나무 정유 추출물 및 그 용도를 개시한다. 구체적으로 본 발명은 참식나무 잎을 수증기로 증류 추출하여 얻어진 참식나무 정유 추출물과 그 정유 추출물의 항염증제 및 항미생물제로서의 용도를 개시한다.
