A method for reconstructing a low-energy image comprises:- Receiving the low-energy imaging data of an area of interest that is based on an interaction of the area of interest with low-energy photons,- Receiving a computed tomography image of the area of interest,- Generating, based on the computed tomography image, a tissue characteristics map of the area of interest regarding the interaction with the low-energy photons, and- Reconstructing, based on the low-energy imaging data and the tissue characteristics map, the low-energy image.
