A liquid cosmetic which minimizes the stickiness or stiffness caused by the incorporation of a large amount of a moisturizing agent and which exhibits richness and freshness in use is provided. This liquid cosmetic contains 10 to 40 mass% of a moisturizing agent (a), 0.01 to 3 mass% of an oil (b), 0.01 to 5 mass% of a hydrophilic surfactant (c) and 0.001 to 03 mass% of polyacrylic acid or a metal salt thereof (d), and is characterized in that the average diameter of the emulsified particles is 500mm or smaller. It is preferable that the amount of a polyalkylene glycol, contained in the moisturizing agent (a) is adjusted to 0.1 to 3 mm% relative to the whole cosmetic.本發明提供一種液狀化妝料，其不僅可抑制因保濕劑之高含量調配而產生之黏膩感或乾澀感，且具有濃稠感及水潤之使用觸感。本發明之液狀化妝料之特徵在於含有：(a)保濕劑10~40質量%；(b)油分0.01~3質量%；(c)親水性界面活性劑0.01~5質量%；及(d)聚丙烯酸或其金屬鹽0.001~0.3質量%；且該液狀化妝料之平均乳化粒徑為500 nm以下。上述(a)保濕劑中所含之聚伸烷基二醇之調配量較佳為相對於化妝料整體為0.1~3質量%。
