PURPOSE: A Dalbergia odorifera T. Chen extract is provided to ensure a skin whitening effect through a mechanism that suppresses melanogenesis by inhibiting the activity of tyrosinase and to be safely applied to the skin as a cosmetic composition. CONSTITUTION: A Dalbergia odorifera T. Chen extract has a skin whitening effect. The extract suppresses the activity of tyrosinase which is related to melanogenesis. The extract is prepared using a solvent selected from the group consisting of ethanol, hexane, purified water, and butylene glycol. The extraction solvent is 70-95 % ethanol. A cosmetic composition for skin whitening contains the extract as an active ingredient.본 발명은 피부 미백 효과가 있는 강진향(Dalbergia odorifera T.)추출물을 제공한다. 본 발명의 강진향 추출물은 티로시나아제 활성을 저해함으로써 멜라닌 합성을 억제하는 기작으로 미백효과를 나타내며, 천연물질로부터 추출해낸 추출물이므로 화장료 조성물로 포함할 경우 안전하게 피부에 적용할 수 있다.
