In a method and device to evaluate an examination of an examination subject with a medical imaging apparatus, an examination data set of the examination subject is imported into the evaluation device. A reference data set is associated with the imported examination data set, wherein the reference data set includes at least one reference region. At least one examination region of the examination data set is established by the evaluation device using the at least one reference region of the reference data set. The establishment of the at least one examination region of the examination data set can include a selection of at least one image of the examination data set； a marking of the at least one examination region in at least one image of the examination data set； and a segmentation of the at least one examination region in at least one image of the examination data set.
