The article sanitization system includes radiation of ultraviolet light of any optical frequency between 122-230 nm. Also provided is a solvent that is scattered around the article and intersects with the ultraviolet projection light. The solvent reacts with the frequency light to produce reactive oxygen species and sterilize the pathogens on the article. Specific optical frequencies are also used, but may be used in combination with different solvents.
