The present invention relates to recombinant vectors expressing the BMP-7polypeptide in host cells and to pharmaceuticalcompositions comprising such recombinant vectors. The invention alsoencompasses methods for prevention and/ortreatment of osteoarthritis in mammals, advantageously in humans, dogs, horsesand cats, by intraarticular administration of therecombinant vectors and pharmaceutical compositions of the invention.
