The present invention discloses a device and method for occluding an airway in at least one orientation. In some embodiments, the device includes an anchoring mechanism configured to maintain the position of the working portion (eg, a valve) along the length of the lumen. The anchoring mechanism can comprise an anchor configured to be installed within the lumen wall without axially moving the working portion. In some embodiments, the anchoring mechanism includes a second anchor that engages the lumen wall.
