Provided are a sterilization apparatus and a sterilization method for medical supplies, wherein the sterilization apparatus comprises a waiting chamber, a completion chamber, at least one steam sterilization device, a plurality of sub carts, a plurality of first master carts and a plurality of second master carts the completion chamber is a sterile environment. The steam sterilization device is provided between the waiting chamber and the completion chamber the bottom of the second master carts has a shutter. The sterilization method includes the following steps: mounting a sub cart on a first master cart, mounting medical supplies to be sterilized on the sub cart, pushing the first master cart carrying the sub cart into the waiting chamber, and then moving the sub cart mounted on the first master cart into the steam sterilization device for sterilization after the completion of sterilization, using another first master cart to receive the sub cart in the steam sterilization device, and transporting the sub cart to the exit of the completion chamber for connection with a second master cart, so as to move the sub cart onto the second master cart, and then using the second master cart to transport the sub cart to the outside for providing medical supplies of complete sterilization. By the above apparatus and method, it is possible to achieve a simpler sterilization procedure and a better sterilization effect moreover, the medical supplies after sterilization will not suffer from contamination of impurities such as flying dusts and the like from the ground during transportation.
