PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide devices, systems and methods of use for monitoring fluid volume in patients with renal disease.SOLUTION: The method includes monitoring 500 an indicator of fluid volume of a patient via a sensor device, and setting 591 an initial fluid removal rate prescription for a blood fluid removal session on the basis of the monitored indicator of fluid volume. The method may further include transmitting data regarding the indicator of fluid volume from the implantable sensor device to a fluid removal device. The fluid removal device sets or calculates the initial fluid volume removal prescription on the basis of the data received from the implantable sensor.
