PURPOSE: A novel Lactobacillus sp. strain is provided to replace existing antibiotics and prevent or treat symptoms generated by abnormal fermentation of harmful bacteria.CONSTITUTION: A probiotic composition contains Lactobacillus salivarius (KACC91678P) or a culture liquid thereof. The probiotic composition has resistance to acid and bile. The probiotic composition suppresses the growth of Enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli (EHEC), E.coli O157:H7, E.coli O78, E.coli O26, Salmonella enteritidis, Salmonella typhimurium, Salmonella cholerasuis, and Salmonella derby. The probiotic composition has an adhesion ability to enterocytes and does not transfer antibiotic resistant genes.
