The present invention relates to a novel use of a CCR4-NOT transcription complex subunit 2 (CNOT2) gene. The CNOT2 gene according to the present invention acts as a regulator of lipid differentiation in cells and promotes expression of lipid forming genes, thereby affecting lipid accumulation and increase of the size of adipocytes so that a metabolic disease is triggered. Therefore, by inhibiting expression of the gene with a CNOT2 gene inhibitor, trigger of a metabolic disease may be inhibited. Also, the present invention may be applied as a target gene of an agent for treating or diagnosing a metabolic disease.COPYRIGHT KIPO 2016본 발명은 CCR4-NOT transcription complex subunit 2 (CNOT2) 유전자의 신규 용도에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따른 CNOT2 유전자는 세포내에서 지방 분화의 조절자로서 역할을 하며 지방 형성 유전자들의 발현을 촉진시킴으로써 지질의 축적 및 지방세포의 크기 증가에 영향을 주어 대사성 질환을 유발시키므로, CNOT2 유전자 억제제로 이 유전자의 발현을 저해시키면 대사성 질환의 유발을 억제시키는 작용 효과를 가질 수 있으며, 또한 대사성 질환의 진단 또는 치료제의 표적 유전자로 활용될 수 있다.
