PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide microbial oil produced by microorganisms exhibiting high productivity and desirable long chain polyunsaturated fatty acid profile, and use methods thereof.SOLUTION: Disclosed herein is an isolated biomass comprising fatty acids corresponding to 20% by weight or more, preferably 25% by weight or more of dry cell weight of the biomass, where 10% by weight or more of the fatty acids are eicosapentaenoic acid, and the fatty acids comprise less than 5% but not 0% by weight of each of arachidonic acid and docosapentaenoic acid n-6. Also disclosed herein is a biomass isolated from a single thraustochytrid microorganism, in particular a microorganism of the genus Schizochytrium or Thraustochytrium. Also disclosed is an isolated biomass comprising a triacylglycerol fraction of which about 12% by weight or more, preferably 15% by weight or more is eicosapentaenoic acid, 15% by weight or more is docosahexaenoic acid, and 2% by weight or less is arachidonic acid.
