The present invention relates to a composition for preventing or treating hyperlipidemia, fatty liver disease or arteriosclerosis, comprising an oxyntomodulin derivative as an active ingredient. The oxyntomodulin derivative has a high ability to activate GLP-1 receptor and glucagon receptor compared to native oxyntomodulin and has the effects of reducing the blood total cholesterol, low-density cholesterol and triglyceride levels that were increased by high-fat diet, and increasing high-density cholesterol levels and the high-density cholesterol/low-density cholesterol ratio. Thus, the oxyntomodulin derivative can be effectively used for the treatment of hyperlipidemia and related diseases.本發明係有關於一種預防或治療高血脂症、脂肪肝疾病或動脈硬化之組成物，其包含作為活性成份之調酸素衍生物。相較於天然調酸素，調酸素衍生物具有活化GLP-1受體與升糖素受體之高度能力，且對於因高脂肪飲食所增加之血液總膽固醇、低密度膽固醇與三酸甘油酯濃度具有降低之效果，並具有增加高密度膽固醇濃度與高密度膽固醇/低密度膽固醇比例之效果。因此，調酸素衍生物可有效用於治療高血脂症與相關疾病。
