PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sterilizing apparatus and a sterilizing method for highly efficiently sterilizing or disinfecting objects.SOLUTION: This sterilizing apparatus as a substitute for a conventional sterilizing apparatus includes: a vaporizing chamber having a sterilizing chamber for storing an object, a vacuum drawing device for evacuating the vaporizing chamber, and a space a vaporizing valve that is opened to allow the vaporizing chamber to communicate with the sterilizing chamber, is closed to stop the communication between the vaporizing chamber and the sterilizing chamber and a hydrogen peroxide supply device that supplies the vaporizing chamber with liquid hydrogen peroxide or hydrogen peroxide solution.
