A method for preparing the atorvastatin hemi-calcium salt or the hydrate comprises a step of suspending crude atovastatin hemicalcium salt in a mixture solvent of methanol and water and stirring at 5-25°；C for 1-10 hours.본 발명은 하기의 화학식 1의 [R-(R',R')]-2-(4-플루오로페닐)-β,δ-디히드록시-5-(1-메틸에틸)-3-페닐-4-[(페닐아미노)카르보닐]-1H-피롤-1-헵탄산 헤미칼슘염으로, 약제로서 유용한 것으로 알려져있는 아토바스타틴 헤미칼슘염의 신규한 결정형, 및 이의 수화물에 관한 것이다. 또한 이의 제조 방법을 제공한다.
