The invention relates to a process for preparing a hydrogel employed in the pharmaceutical industry. According to the invention, the process consists in cross-linking with up to 3% epichlorohydrin a mixture of 90...50% cellulose and 10...50% chondroitin sulphate, at a temperature of 80°C, for 8 h, at a pH value >7, the percentage being expressed by mass, where the resulting hydrogel has a swelling degree of more than 300%.
