Disclosed is a method for controlling insect pests by vibration which comprises: a process of determining the range of the frequency and the range of the amplitude of the vibration of the habitat medium of the insect pests, which induce or suppress specific behaviors of the insect pests； and a process of controlling the behaviors of the insect pests by subjecting the habitat medium of the insect pests to, once or more times, vibration in the range of the frequency and the range of the amplitude.
