A pants-type wearing article having a connection member with increased strength.Front and rear waist regions (6, 7) of the pants-type wearing article (1) are connectedto each other using connection means (14a, 14b) that can be separated and rejoined. The connection means (14a, 14b) has a support member (20) folded into eithera Z shape or a reversed Z shape when the front and rear waist regions (6, 7) are superposedover each other and also has a fastener member (21). The support member (20) hasa top side (61), a bottom side (62), and an intermediate side (63) for connectingthe top and bottom sides, and these sides form the Z shape. A sheet like backingsection (43) is provided on opposite surfaces of the bottom side (62) and intermediateside (63), and the backing section (43) extends along the opposite surfaces,from a bottom opening end (69) of the bottom side (62) toward a top joint end (66)of the top side (61). The top side (61) is joined to the intermediate side (63)with a first joint region (51) in between them, and the backing section (43) isjoined to both the bottom side (62) and the intermediate side (63) with a secondjoint region (52) in between them. In the support member (20), the first jointregion (51) and second joint region (52) are superposed over each other in thedirection of the height of the Z shape with the intermediate side (63) in betweenthem.
