Birth assisting devices are disclosed. The devices may comprise a compartment comprising a front side, a back side, and two lateral sides, which is open from a bottom side and configured to host one or more fingers, wherein a first area of the compartment has a first stiffness and a second area has a second higher stiffness, and wherein the second area comprises at least a portion of one of the lateral sides of the compartment. The device may allow a birth practitioner, such as a physician or a midwife, to rotate the head of a fetus during labor avoiding the use of a forceps or vacuum. Furthermore, it may protect the fingers of the practitioner from lesions.
