PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing a sap that can be used for a culture medium suitable for the cultivation of a microorganism using the sap obtained from an oil palm trunk and a petiole as a raw material.SOLUTION: The method for preparing the sap according to the present invention has one or more steps selected from a group consisting of the steps of: inactivating fermentation inhibitors of the sap obtained from the oil palm trunk and the petiole； separating the fermentation inhibitors； and removing the fermentation inhibitors. High-efficient useful substance production is realized by promoting more favorable fermentation for the microorganism using the sap. In the present this invention, a phenolic substance or substances including the phenolic substance are mentioned as fermentation inhibitors of the microorganism.【課題】オイルパーム幹及び葉柄より得られた樹液を原料とした微生物の培養に適した培地に好適に用いることができる樹液の調製方法を提供する。【解決手段】本発明の樹液の調製方法は、オイルパーム幹及び葉柄から得られる樹液の発酵阻害物質を不活化する工程、分離する工程、及び除去する工程からなる群から選択された１種又は２種以上の工程を有することを特徴とする。その樹液を用いて微生物により良好な発酵を促し、高効率な有用物質生産を可能とする。本発明においては、微生物発酵阻害物質としてフェノール性物質又はフェノール性物質を含む物質が挙げられる。【選択図】なし
