A caster steering device 1 comprising a base and a pair of plates pivotally mounted to the base for rotation about a common axis wherein the mounting is such that the plates are biased away from the base and such that the plates can slide along the axis towards each other when the plates are rotated towards the base. The mounting of the plates may utilise slots and tabs. A spring may be provided as a resilient member to produce the biasing. The device may be arranged to turn wheelchair castors to an angle which helps prevent forward or backward movement of the wheelchair and may be used when loading the wheelchair onto a vehicle.
