An implantable valved stent (4) for a patients heart is formed by a stent supporting a cloth structure (10). The valved stent (4) includes an upper mounting portion (12) and a lower valved portion (14). The upper mounting portion (12) has an upper side and a lower side supporting a plurality of hooks (18) extending downwardly from the lower side whereby the implantable valved stent (4) is mounted to the heart when heart tissue is captured between the hooks and the lower side. The lower valved portion (14) extends downwardly from the upper mounting portion (12) and includes a check valve (48) that allows downward flow of the blood and checks upward flow of blood.
