An oral care composition is disclosed. The composition comprises zincphosphate and a silicate compound comprisinga metallic element that in cationic form is capable of reducing tooth enamelerosion. The zinc phosphate is added to the oral carecomposition as a preformed salt. Methods of administering the oral carecompositions to subjects in need thereof are also disclosed.
