PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide skin external preparations having a transparent or translucent appearance, being able to maintain its transparency, and having excellent stability.SOLUTION: A skin cosmetic contains the following components (A), (B), (C), (D), and (E): (A) 0.2-2.5 mass% of α-monoglyceryl ether represented by general formula (1) [where, R represents an alkyl group or alkenyl group having 8-36 carbon atoms] (B) 0.05-1.5 mass% of nonionic surfactants except the component (A) (C) ethanol(D) water and (E) an active ingredient. The mass ratio (A)/(B) of the component (A) to the component (B) is greater than 2 to 22 or less.
