A surgical apparatus 1 includes a treatment portion 31, a high-frequency output portion 44 or the like that supplies energy such as a high-frequency current, a liquid feeding tube 25, a suction tube 26, two pumps 47 and 49, and a CPU 41 as a control portion. In response to stopping of the supply of energy from the high-frequency output portion 44 or the like, the CPU 41 controls the two pumps to be continuously driven for a predetermined extension time period after the supply of energy stops.
