This invention relates generally to an expandable intraluminal medical device for use within a body passageway or duct, and more particularly to a stent having at least a first hoop (606(b)) section and a second hoop section. The first hoop section (606(b)) comprises a tubular configuration of structural elements (608) having proximal and distal open end, and defining a longitudinal axis (603) extending there between. The second hoop section (606(c)) comprises a tubular configuration of structural elements having proximal and distal open end, and extending along the longitudinal axis defined by the first hoop section, but is rotationally offset from the first hoop section about the longitudinal axis.Cette invention concerne de manière générale un dispositif médical intraluminal extensible à utiliser dans un passage ou conduit du corps.
